Dolores K. LeBlanc
CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Dolores K. LeBlanc, 82, who passed away Aug. 20, 2024, at her home in Lafayette.
Father Mark Miley, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, officiated for the services.
Visitation was Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
A rosary was lead by Deacon Dan Didier on Friday at 6 p.m.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Dolores was born in Crowley on Nov. 25, 1941. She was a graduate of St. Michael High School in 1960.
She loved to travel, her Red Hat Club and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Allen Joseph LeBlanc of Lafayette; one daughter, Samantha Ann Santilli and husband Kevin of Thompson Station, Tennessee; two sons, Brent Henry of Maurice and Gregory Henry and wife Tracey of Walls, Mississippi; four grandchildren Haley and Grant Santilli, and Mason and Grace Henry; one great-grandchild, Channing Santilli; her sister, Brenda Bertrand of Crowley and her children, Thad Bertrand, Christine Duhon, and Tiffany Miller.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Berryl and Elise Hanks Kibodeaux.
Pallbearers were Brent Henry, Greg Henry, Grant Santilli, Mason Henry, Kevin Santilli and Thad Bertrand.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
Eleanor “Ella” Marie (Leonards) Braun
Madison, Wisconsin – Eleanor “Ella” Marie (Leonards) Braun, age 94, passed away on Sunday Aug. 18, 2024, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Madison, Wisconsin, following a long, courageous journey.
Eleanor was born on July 15, 1930, in Rayne, the daughter of Louis and Gertrude (Dischler) Leonards.
Ella was raised in Roberts Cove, a rural German community. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church there and later became a lifetime member of the St. Leo’s Altar Society. She was very proud of her birthplace, her family, and her German heritage.
Ella graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Crowley in 1947.
Ella married William (Bill) Braun of Madison on Oct. 26, 1950, and they shared 65 years of marriage before his passing in 2016. Ella was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Madison for over 50 years. Her faith served as a source of strength and was important to her throughout her life, particularly in her later years.
Ella worked for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue during tax season from 1968-1992. She developed many lifelong friendships through her employment there but her greatest achievement and source of pride was that of homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She was the quintessential homemaker, always keeping a meticulous home. Her deep love for her family meant that family always came first. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters and she was always available to help them in any way. She often said they were her “pride and joy.”
Survivors include her children Constance Wheeler (Jean Lantz) of Kenosha, Bob Braun (Janine) of The Woodlands, Texas, and Cynthia Hasz (James) of Fitchburg; grandchildren Adam Hasz (Torrie) of Madison, Brandon Hasz of Fitchburg, AnnaClaire Braun Olson (Josh) of Houston, Texas, and William Braun of Houston, Texas; great-granddaughters Eleanor and newborn Tatum Hasz of Madison.
She is also survived by her sisters Marcella Ohlenforst of Rayne and Sylvia Jean Frugé of Crowley; and brothers Louis (Patty) Leonards of Keithsville and Buck Leonards of Rayne; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; two sisters Philomena Ohlenforst and Dorothy Leonards; two brothers Blaise Leonards and Edwin Leonards; nine sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law.
Ella will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She will always be remembered and cherished as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of the Mass.
Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Loretta Ann Courville Bordes
Rayne - Funeral services were held on Friday Aug. 23, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Loretta Ann Courville Bordes, 79, who died Monday, Aug. 19, 2024.
Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Father Brent Smith, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services.
Mrs. Loretta was born and raised in Eunice to the late Walter and Estelle Courville. She married in 1963 and made her life with her husband in Rayne.
Mrs. Loretta loved God, loved her husband, and loved her family dearly. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends, especially her time spent with friends camping.
She was a special person and touched many people in her lifetime. She was loved and will be missed by all.
Mrs. Loretta made her career as a professional secretary and office manager. She worked for different businesses in Rayne until she and her husband acquired and ran Gas Plus. She retired after many years as office manager for Frog City Travel Plaza.
Ms. Loretta taught Catechism and volunteered for many things in her community throughout her life. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi and loved her sorority sisters.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 61 years Winford Patrick Bordes; two sons, W. Pat (Tew) Bordes II (Jessica) and David Coty Bordes (Jena); one daughter, Julie Estelle Lopez (Brad); six grandchildren, Andrew Bordes (Beth), Cailey Morgan (fiancé Cameron Doucet), Shelby Bordes, Cy (Deuce) Morgan, Collin Morgan and Emma Lopez; and three great-grandchildren Case Doucet, Cait Doucet and Briggs Bordes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. Courville and Estelle Cormier Courville; brother, Herbert J. Courville; sister, Myrtice C. Menard and her spouse Lloyd; and one grandson, Trey Patrick Bordes.
Pallbearers were Andrew Bordes, Cy (Deuce) Morgan, Collin Morgan, Brad Lopez, Wilson Bordes Jr. and Donald Breaux.
Scripture readers were Amanda Roche and Shelby Bordes
Music was sung and conducted by family friend, Denise Brignac.
A Rosary was prayed at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in Gossen Funeral Home.
Visitation was observed in Gossen Funeral Home on Thursday Aug. 22, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 23, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
