Church Point area prepping for capital outlay projects

Superintendent John Bourque presents a plan for capital outlay projects in Church Point School District No. 6, which recently approved a new 10 mills tax for a period of 10 years.

The passage of the new tax in the Church Point area in March must have felt like Christmas to those who have wanted to build in the area.

Several items approved by APSB

In its routine items, the Acadia Parish School Board approved several committee recommendations.

Powerlifting team applauded by board

Students recognized at board’s meeting

Acadia Parish’s Students of the Year, from left, Wyatt Manuel (12th grade), Sarah Henry (fifth grade) and Hannah Henderson (eighth grade) look on as they are introduced to the large crowd on hand Monday night.

Red carpet and all, the district’s Students of the Year from fifth, eighth and 12th grade were lauded with grand applause to open, and close, Monday night’s meeting of the Acadia Parish School Board.
