Rayne Holiday Market deemed success
RAYNE - “Today is a great day for the city of Rayne,” stated Rayne Chamber President Jeremy Lavergne as the inaugural Rayne Holiday Market came to a close Saturday, Nov. 30, at the city’s Depot.
The Rayne Chamber of Commerce and the City of Rayne joined forces to host the inaugural Rayne Holiday Market over the weekend in conjunction with “Shop Small Saturday.
“From all indications, the participating businesses did very well today,” noted Lavergne of the many shoppers visiting participating businesses for early holiday shopping.
Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. customers visited with over 30 participating vendors at the Rayne Depot for a variety of gifts and special selections, just in time for Christmas.
Children enjoyed visiting with Santa Clause, while mom and dad shopped for Christmas and sample deliciously prepared foods.
Throughout the city, Rayne merchants offered specials and discounts during the special “Shop Small Saturday” event.
Participating businesses were Candyland Cottage and Ice Cream Shoppé, Sadie’s Flower Shop, Blessings Religious Shop, Mon Reve Boutique, Landry’s Feed Store, Antiques on the Avenue, Hand to Hand Thrift Store & Community Center, Nonc Kev’s Specialty Meats, Planned 2 Prefection, Wright Decor, True Value Farmer’s Hardware, Archer James, Rice Silk Skin Care and Fragrances, Luxe A’vie Salon-Boutique-Studio, LolliHops Children’s Boutique, London EE & Co., Ace Hardware and Blush Skin Studio.
In addition to the Rayne Holiday Market and Shop Small Saturday activities, a special promotion was held by the above businesses.
Those businesses provided paper ornaments for shoppers to collect during the special weekend of shopping. Each shopper submitted those ornaments at the Rayne Holiday Market at the Depot for a Chamber Cash drawing of $100 Saturday afternoon. The lucky winner was Andreé P. Wingate.
Congratulations to all the shoppers and visitors who attended the special weekend of events and activities in making the inaugural event a complete success.
