Altercation results in shots fired, arrests made
RAYNE - Two arrests were made the evening of Tuesday, July 4, following multiple shooting incidents.

The Church Point Police Department, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, the Church Point Volunteer Fire Department and several other area fire departments responded to a gas line leak at the intersection of La. Hwy. 35 & La. Hwy. 95 in Church Point yesterday. According to Mayor Ryan “Spanky” Meche, the line was hit by a boring crew working in the area. Due to safety concerns many business on the northwest side of town were evacuated.

CROWLEY - Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish and detectives with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are asking the public’s help to solve a shooting that occurred on West Northern Avenue.
