Sheriff announces scholarship program
ACADIA PARISH - Sheriff K.P. Gibson has announced that the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program is currently underway.
Climaxing the annual Acadia Parish Junior Livestock Show and Sale is the auction of the grand champions Saturday morning. Top - state Sen. Bob Hensgens, left, and state Rep John Stefanski purchased Emily Zaunbrecher’s Grand Champion Steer for $8,000. Bottom left - Maria Simon’s Grand Champion Market Goat was purchased for $1,200 by Gatti’s Pizza, represented by Treg Myers. Bottom center - Sheriff K.P. Gibson bought Emily Zaunbrecher’s Grand Champion Lamb for $1,600. Bottom right - Laura Miller’s Grand Champion Hog was purchased by Supreme Rice, represented by Danny Nugier, center, and Mauboules Trust, represented by Doug Lacombe, for $1,300.
