Judy Alice Hebert Jukes
CROWLEY - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mrs. Judy Alice Hebert Jukes announce her passing due to natural causes in her DeRidder residence on April 21, 2023, at the age of 84.
She was born on May 24, 1938, to Renus and Marilyn Hebert in Hackberry. Mrs. Judy and her husband of 56 years, Harry Jukes, raised two children together, James “Jimmy” Jukes of Crowley, and Margaret Jukes of Jacksonville, Florida, and their granddaughter, Sherry Miller of Rosepine.
She was a loving wife and mother as well as grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Judy was a resident of Crowley for the larger part of her life where she worked for the Sheriff’s Department until retirement. Upon retirement, she enjoyed sleeping in, watching television, spending time on the computer, making phone calls, giving her honest opinion, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
She was also a beach lover and proud supporter of LSU sports.
She moved to DeRidder to spend the last few years of her life near some of her great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Renus and Marilyn Hebert; and her husband, Harry Jukes.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Jimmy Jukes and Margaret Jukes; grandchildren, Sherry Miller, James “Gus” Jukes, Leigh Darbonne, Jon Jukes, Cody Jukes and Nicholas Wilkerson; and great-grandchildren, Zoe Miller, Logan Miller, Sophie Miller, Ellie Miller, Ezra Miller, Jack Thomas Darbonne, Jon David Jukes and Beau Jukes.
