A Waste Connections truck empties an “old” roll-out cart after emptying one of the “new” models during regular pick-up Tuesday morning in Rayne. The company currently is in the process of delivering the new, blue carts — one per residence — throughout the parish. Residents are encouraged to bring their old carts to the roadside on pick-up days whether or not they need to be emptied and to leave them at the road for at least 24 hours.
A new plan is being put in place that should alleviate some of the problems parish residents are encountering with the replacement of trash carts.
Waste Connections, Inc., is in the process of changing out the individual carts, but it’s taking longer and creating more problems than expected.
Final adjustments to the Acadia Parish Police Jury’s 2017 budget Wednesday night brought figures to within the state mandated variance.
