On Tuesday, May 2, Crowley Masonic Lodge #243 presented its Masonic Honesty and Integrity Awards to area high school students demonstrating virtues that lead to successful, meaningful and rewarding lifestyles. Local Beta Sigma Phi chapters celebrate Founder’s Day

Members of the Laureate Mu and Eta Kappa chapters of Beta Sigma Phi met together on April 26 at the Rice Palace for a banquet to celebrate the 86th anniversary of the founding of the sorority.

On May 3, Opelousas Catholic School honored Cynthia Going Gates, center, who will retire at the end of this school year after serving as the high school assistant principal for the last 13 years. On hand for the event were, from left, Robbie Gates (honoree’s son), Bob Gates (honoree’s husband), Adam Gates (honoree’s son) and Betsy Gates (honoree’s daughter).
