The Crowley Gents will travel to Church Point this afternoon for a scrimmage against the Bears at 6 p.m. Notre Dame, Rayne and Iota also have their annual scrimmages slated for this evening.
With the first few weeks of August camp out of the way, all of the area’s high school football teams are more than ready to hit someone other than their own teammates.
Last year, the Bulldogs had its best season since winning the state championship in 1999.
Iota finished 13-1 overall, won the District 5-3A title and advanced to the semifinals.
The Iota All-Sports Backer Golf Tournament will be held at Bayou Bend in Crowley on August 24.
