Mr. Charles Rex Andrews

Taylor Marie Gray weds Charles Rex Andrews

Evening wedding held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church

St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church was the picturesque setting on Saturday, April 17, 2021, when Taylor Marie Gray of Rayne and Charles Rex Andrews of Ozark, Alabama, were united as husband and wife during a 6 p.m. Liturgy of Holy Matrimony.
The bride is the daughter of Todd W. and Allison Boyd Gray of Rayne. Her grandparents are Richard A. and Lana O’Neill Boyd of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Larry D. and Sophie Judice Gray of Rayne.
The groom is the son of Susan Baldwin Andrews of Dothan, Alabama, and the late Rex D. Andrews. His grandparents are Charles K. Baldwin and Carole Ansbro Beebe of San Francisco, California and Porter W. and Annie Peters Andrews of Ozark.
Officiating the ceremony was Deacon Timothy Ledet, with organist and vocalist Tori Gossen providing musical selections.
Ushering guests against a background of traditional musical selections and a decor of Easter blooms were Boyd Gray, brother of the bride, and Braden Hobaugh, cousin of the bride.
On the arm of her father, the bride wore a white fit-and-flare wedding gown with lace featured throughout with traditional heirloom shapes and patterns layered over the sheer bodice and glitter tulle underlayer. The plunging neckline and thinly beaded straps were echoed in the back with a delicate, floating multi-strap detail. A lengthy, scalloped sheer train with antique-style lace edging completed the dress.
A simple veil of fingertip-length white tulle was accentuated with a beaded trim.
The bride carried a bouquet of traditional white roses, white arum lilies with blush sweetheart rose accents and baby’s breath. Wrapped in the bouquet was a rosary and wedding band that had belonged to the bride’s great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Andris O’Neill. The bride’s maternal grandmother presented her with the 113-year-old ring as a gift just prior to the ceremony.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was a dear friend, Alaina Savoy Meaux. Bridesmaids were Marie Ledet Cook and Caitie Clemmons, friends of the bride, and Madison Gray, Leeann Gray and Allie Gray, sisters of the bride.
The bridal attendants wore floor-length gowns of sage green chiffon and carried small bouquets of blush roses and baby’s breath.
Serving as flower girl was Christine Cook, daughter of Marie and Stuart Cook.
Attending the groom as best man was his friend, Jonathan Canales, with groomsmen including Chris Short, Devin Smith, Kevin Bernhardt, Luis Mendoza and Chris Martin, all friends of the groom.
Ring bearer was Jet LeJeune, son of Samantha Meche and Mikey LeJeune.
Immediately following the wedding, a reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at The Warehouse Event Center in Rayne, where family members and friends enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing. The exquisite building in the downtown area, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, displayed a rustic atmosphere with warm brick, deep woods, long leaf pine floors, vintage bar and fireplace, elegant staircase and grand piano.
Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a three tiered traditional confection with white icing trimmed with gunni eucalyptus and baby’s breath.
The groom’s cake was a unique King Cake with Mardi Gras beads on display atop the grand piano.
Following a wedding trip to southern California, the couple is now residing in Kingwood, Texas.
The rehearsal dinner was held Friday, April 16, at the home of the bride’s parents and was hosted by the groom. Welcomed were the wedding party and out of town guests.
The bride is a 2012 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley and a 2016 graduate of UL-Lafayette, with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. She obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2019 from Texas Women’s University in Houston, and she is employed as a physical therapist at Lake Houston Physical Therapy in Humble, Texas.
The groom is a 2010 graduate of Dale County High School in Midland City, Alabama and is co-founder of Pathway Training Fitness in Porter, Texas.
