Former Gov. Edwin W. Edwards decided to place himself in hospice care Monday night at his home in Gonzales, following a trip Sunday by ambulance to nearby St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were shut down Tuesday morning due a major vehicle crash near mile marker 92 just west of Duson Exit near L. Boudreaux Road overpass. State Police confirmed that two people were killed in the multi-vehicle crash that involved a cattle trailer.
