2020 Annual Frog Derby seeking contestants, orientation Monday
RAYNE - The annual Frog Derby competition, sponsored every year by the Rayne Lions Club since the 1940s, is seeking contestants who are freshman-senior in high school with an Acadia Parish address, phone number or attends an Acadia Parish school to compete for the titles of 2020 Frog Derby and Frog Jockey Queen.
Orientation will be held Monday, March 9, at 5 p.m. at the Rayne Lions Club Hut -- its not too late to enter the fun and “hopping” event.
Interviews will be held Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m. at the Green Room of the Civic Center Complex.
The best dressed frog, frog jumping, and official crowning of the new royalty will take place on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. on Stage II during the 2020 Annual Rayne Frog Festival.
