Five men, including three from Acadia Parish were arrested over the weekend when deputies with Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a complaint of chicken fighting.
Members of the Crowley Lions Club learned about the COPS — Concerns of Police Survivors — program during their regular semi-monthly meeting Tuesday at The Rice Palace. Wayne Perry, Law Enforcement Liaison, Southwest Regional Coordinator; Betty Newman, widow of the late Crowley Police Officer Richard Newman; and Ann Mire, program chair.
Lion Tim Mader was named 2017-18 “Lions of the Year” by President Lawrence. Joining in the congratulations is Ethel Robin, past District Governor of District 08, and club guest.
