The Acadia Parish Library in Iota and the Acadia Parish Ag in the Classroom program held a fun Story Hour for the community recently. Representing the Library was Librarian Anne Ritter along with AITC representative Cathy Habetz, who read books on the life of a seed, planted seeds and made noodle necklaces. The highlight of the event, however, was a presentation by Daxton Broussard, 11-year-old grandson of Ritter, who appeared with his ventriloquist act featuring Danny O’Day. Both were dresses in hippie attire and sang and told jokes for the intrigued audience of children and parents. Popsicles were distributed at the end of the program.
