CROWLEY - Thursday, May 4, will be observed as a Day of Prayer in Crowley by virtue of a proclamation signed Friday morning by Mayor Chad Monceaux.

Fire damage can been seen on the roof of Fat Boys Grocery on Second Street. The Crowley Fire Department received the call about the fire at 4:58 a.m. Thursday morning, and the department had the fire under control by 5:22 a.m. Four engines and two chief’s trucks from the fire department as well as officers from the Crowley Police Department and EMTs from Acadian Ambulance also assisted at the scene. The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident, and more information will be released at a later date.
