Juvenile wounded in early morning shooting

A juvenile was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting early Monday morning.
According to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, officers responded to a call of shots fired on Harry Fuselier Road before daybreak Monday/
At the scene, officers located a number of casings in front of the residence, a bullet hole in the vehicle under the carport and a second bullet hole in the door of the garage.
The bullet that struck the door apparently traveled through the residence and struck a juvenile who was sitting on the couch inside the home, according to Broussard.
The juvenile was transported to Acadia General Hospital with “very minor injuries,” Broussard said.
Broussard said investigators currently are not sure if the shooting was gang or drug related.
Investigators remained on scene into the morning to process the scene and are looking for any further information, the chief said.
