Rayne Lions Club Radio Auction begins Monday
RAYNE - Well over 100 items will be up for grabs when the Rayne Lions Club stages its 46th annual three-night Radio Auction beginning Monday, March 9.
Headquartered in the Green Room of the Rayne Civic Center Complex, the auction will be broadcast over Sunny 95.1 and my sunny 951.com, (1450 KSIG) and Pure Country 106.7 radio from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. each night.
The Lions will be auctioning off everything from bar tabs to gift certificates to favorite area restaurants, from steak dinners to sacks of crawfish, from oil changes to portalette rentals, and all you have to do is listen in and call 393-4117 or 393-4047 to bid on items.
Each night will feature a number of “all-night” items on which bids will be accepted until 9:30 p.m.

On Monday, March 9, Lions will accept bids throughout the evening on the featured items including a weekend cabin rental at Cajun Campground; two dozen custom caps or t-shirts by Bayou Silkscreening; crawfish boil for 25 people by M&P 98 Jamie Prevost LPC and D&R Towing; and a ribeye rack up to $125 from Trahan Foods.
Tuesday’s featured items will include a 60-quart boiling pot with basket and two sacks of crawfish by Don Landry for District Attorney & Stines; ribeye rack up to $150 from Trahan Foods by Gossen Funeral Home; crawfish boil at buyer’s location including two sacks of crawfish, corn, potatoes by Lion Stacy Ancelet; BBQ package of ribeyes, sausage, BBQ tool set, burner with cooking surface by D&R Towing, Doug Ashy, Nonc Kev’s and LeJeune’s; and 10 yards of topsoil by Aucoin’s Trucking.
Featured items on Wednesday includes catering for 75 people off of the basic menu by Country Catering; handmade six-foot conversion bench/picnic table of LSU National Champs 2019 with two tiki torchces and fluid by Lion Jackie Prejean and Farmer’s True Value; BBQ pit made by the City of Rayne by Mayor Chuck Robichaux and City Councilmen; three-hour limo ride/rental by Lafayette Limo & Trolley; and ribeye rack from Piggly Wiggly by Mayor Chuck Robichaux and Peggy King.
Items can be picked up and paid for at the Lions Hut on Gossen Memorial Drive Tuesday, March 10, through Thursday, March 12, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
