Adam R. Istre

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, for Adam R. Istre, 71, who passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, at 9:56 p.m. at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church New Cemetery in the Mausoleum in Rayne.
The family has requested visitation to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include four daughters, Shana and husband Steven Richard of Rayne, Shelley and husband Mitchell Batten of Rayne, Stacie and husband Andrew Landry of Lafayette and Shae Istre of Rayne; one brother, Alex Istre of Rayne; and nine grandchildren, Tyler and wife Shyla Istre, Heather and husband Spencer Mire, Robyn Batten, Karla Richard, Hannah Landry, Lindsey Batten, Ethan Batten, Abigail Landry and Henry Landry.
Mr. Istre was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy L. Istre; his parents, Joseph and Eunice Istre; two brothers, Eddie and Raymond Istre; and one sister, Cloma Griffin.
