Connie Ann Richard
RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial for Connie Ann Richard, 74, of Rayne will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Father Kevin Bordelon will serve as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 Mausoleum, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM in Gossen Funeral Home, Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
Miss Richard passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 in a Lafayette hospital.
Miss Richard was a person of strong faith, having served with the Sisters of Mount Carmel for thirty years. She was a school teacher, guidance counselor, and principal at parochial schools throughout south and central Louisiana for many years. Upon her return to Rayne, she taught at Rayne Catholic School before establishing and operating Little Flowers Home School. Miss Richard loved and was loved by her school children. Her legacy of faith in Jesus will live on through their lives for many years.
Survivors include sisters, Fay Jeffers and husband, Lloyd of Rayne, and Elaine Roy and husband, Tony of Lafayette; nieces and nephews, Kalen Jeffers, Roxanne Stage, Corwyn Jeffers, Rhonlyn Carrere, Marty Roy, Beau Roy, and Erin Roy Bazile; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Miss Richard in death were her parents, Lester Joseph Richard and Hazel Martin Richard.
