Doris Ann Romero

A Mass of Christian burial for Doris Ann Romero, 56, of Estherwood, will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau on Monday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. with Father Randall Moreau officiating.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, Jan. 13, from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass.
Doris will be laid to rest in Arceneaux Cemetery.
Carrying Doris to her final resting place in Arceneaux Cemetery will be Richard Cadena, Jason Broussard, Daniel Mouton, Daniel Battise, Stephen Broussard and James Romero.
Doris was born in Lafayette on Nov. 8, 1962, to James J. Romero and Mary Lou Broussard Romero. She was called to her Heavenly Father on Jan. 8, 2019.
Doris liked to go for walks, rock, play toss, and eat strawberry cake. Doris was a kind and loving person she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Doris is survived by her two sisters, Stephenee Broussard (Harold) of Mermentau, and Stacey Harper (Ricky) of Nome, Texas; her four nieces and four nephews; her five great-nieces and five great-nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Lou Romero; her brother, Vance Romero; her two sisters, Hazel Romero and Vivian Romero.
