Marie D. Aguillard
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Marie D. Aguillard, 92, who passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at 12:55 a.m. in the St. Joseph’s Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Deacon Gary Gaudin, from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Eunice will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation be held on Monday, Nov. 7, at 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 8 a.m. until time of services. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Mrs. Aguillard was a former resident of Crowley where she enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants and visiting with her children and grandchildren. In recent years, since her dear husband’s passing, she lived at La Maison De Lafayette in Lafayette where she still enjoyed visits and positively lit up when her great-grandchildren visited. Mrs. Aguillard was also one of 10 daughters to the late Leo and Hermina Doucet.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and wife Linda Aguillard Sr. of Addis and Ronald and wife Michelle Aguillard of Crowley; three daughters, Anna and husband Ronald Breaux of Sulphur, Katherine and husband Buddy Churchill of Enid, Oklahoma, and Patricia and husband George Reed of Youngsville; eight grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and wife Anne Breaux of Slidell, Randall and wife Connie Breaux of Centerville, Adrienne Nicole Breaux of New Orleans, Larry Jr. and wife, Wendy Aguillard of Baton Rouge, Justin Churchill of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Erica and husband David Fields of Woodstock, Georgia, Maranda and husband Randall McElwee of Eunice and Lindsay and husband Joshua Regan of Youngsville. She was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Lilly Higginbotham of Church Point and Rita Marks of Opelousas.
Pallbearers for the services will be Larry Aguillard Jr., Randall Breaux, Ronald Breaux Jr., Joshua Regan, Randall McElwee and Ian McElwee.
Mrs. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Leit Aguillard; her grandson, Christopher Burzynski; and her great-grandson, Carson Aguillard; and her parents, Leo and Hermina Doucet.
