Norma Abshire Sonnier

Private graveside services will be held for Norma Abshire Sonnier, 72, who passed away March 20, 2020, at Lafayette General Hospital.
Fr. Clint Trahan will be officiating for the services.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lyons Point.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gerald “Jerry” Sonnier of Lyons Point; four siblings, Anna Bell David of Scott, Ophed Abshire of Crowley, Pearly Guidry of Lyons Point, and Leroy Abshire of Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Turbert and Aurella Landry Abshire; and three siblings, Ellis, Clifton, and Viviana Abshire.
Pallbearers will be Preston Gary Sr., Preston Gary Jr., Cody Vincent, Bobby Jo Spell, Kevin Abshire and Dillon Romero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Winston Vondenstein, Allen Thibodeaux, Glenn Gary and Lester Gary.
