Sylvia Andrus Johnson

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Sylvia Andrus Johnson, 80, who died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in Crowley.
Dr. Bryan Sibley, United Methodist certified lay minister, will officiate the services.
The family is requesting visiting hours be held Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to service time.
Burial will be in South Crowley Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson was born June 7, 1938, in Crowley. She was a graduate of the 1956 class of Crowley High School and completed her degree in education at McNeese State University.
Upon completion of her degree, she taught in the Acadia Parish School system for 20 years. In addition, she was co-owner of Aurora Flower Shop of Crowley.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mike Johnson; one daughter, Leslie Olinger and husband John; and one grandson, Wynn Olinger.
Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, Wynn and Esther Faulk Andrus; her brother, Dale Andrus; and her in-laws, Blanchard and Margaret Harmon Johnson.
