Gloria Dale Cormier

MIRE - Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at a 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, for Gloria Dale Cormier, 85, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Courtyard Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Inurnment will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Mire.
Rev. Mike Arnaud, Pastor of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Gloria Dale Cormier was employed by the Acadia Parish School Board for 33 years, and was a member of the Acadia Parish Retired Teachers Association, Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, Mire Volunteer Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary, Assumption Church Choir, Recipient of Bishop’s Service Medal and religion teacher.
Survivors include her sister, Joyce Cormier of Mire; and four cousins, Gregory Venable of Lafayette, Allen Venable of Lafayette, Stewart Venable of Baton Rouge and Mona Leger of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clesma Cormier; mother, Pearl Mire; and infant brother, James Cormier.
A Rosary will be prayed Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire.
The family requests visitation be observed at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Edmond "Pappy" Patrick Myers

RAYNE - Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, for Edmond "Pappy" Patrick Myers, 65, who died Friday, January 3, 2020 at his residence in St. Martinville.

Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.

Rev. Brent Smith, Parochial Vicar with St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include his siblings, Norris Thibodeaux and spouse Patsy of Lafayette, Gloria Myers Boudreaux and spouse Roy of St. Martinville, Glenda Myers Maturin of St. Martinville, Margaret Myers Comeaux and spouse John of New Iberia, Michael Anthony Myers and spouse Anita of Youngsville; brother-in-law, Mervin Menard of Scott; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by wife, Angela Marie Myers; parents, Alton Benedict Myers and Marie Louise Gallet Myers; two sisters, Nora Myers Norris and Delores Myers Menard; and two brothers-in-law, Dewey Norris and Paul Wesley Maturin.
