Wilson Joseph Suire
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at St Jules Catholic Church for Wilson Joseph Suire, 81, who passed away Aug. 26, 2019, at his residence.
Father Dan Edwards, pastor of St. Jules Church, will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include his nephew whom he raised, Jeremy “Jay” (Laurie) Suire of Crowley; two sisters, Sandra (John) Hanks of Crowley, and Katherine (Robert) Kuffler of Estherwood; three brothers, Daniel (Ann) Suire of Baton Rouge, Anthony (Charlotte) Suire Jr. of Crowley, and Larry (Jessica) Suire of Crowley; and numerous nieces and nephews, including three great-nephews who lovingly referred to him as “Paw Paw Willie”: Grant, Harrison, and Reagan Suire.
He was preceded in death by his partner of 43 years, Carol J. LeBlanc; his parents, the former Rita Dore and Anthony Suire Sr.; three sisters, Dorothy Suire, Joy Lee Trahan, and Mary S. Gilbert; and one brother, Richard Suire.
Wilson was a native of Crowley, and resided in Lafayette for over 40 years. He was a Registered Nurse and nursing instructor, working at Lafayette General Medical Center for nearly four decades until his retirement. He was a devoted member of St. Jules Church parish for many years.
Pallbearers will be Danny Suire, Grant Wilson Suire, Harrison Christopher Suire, Todd Suire, Richard “Chip” Suire and Kenneth “Boo” Trahan.
Honorary pallbearers include Reagan Alexander Suire, Kim Wiltz, Greg Brown, Gillray Patin, Maurice LeBlanc, Lance LeBlanc, Gerald LeBlanc, Lisa Robichaux and Neil LeBlanc.
The family requests that visitation be held at Walters Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5 - 9 p.m. and resuming Thursday, Aug. 29, at 9 a.m. at St. Jules Church until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at Walters Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Memorial contributions can be made to either St. Jules Catholic Church or the Lafayette General Foundation.

Doris M. Guidry
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Doris M. Guidry, 79, who passed away Aug. 26, 2019, at Acadia General Hospital.
Fr. Jason Vidrine, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.
The family requested visiting hours to be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Leger and fiancé Nick Baker of Crowley; one son, Wade Guidry and fiancé Kerri Breaux of Iota; three sisters, Marjorie Simar, Sylvia Cochran, and Anna Lois Lormand, all of Crowley; two brothers, Lee and Harold Meyer, both of Crowley; eight grandchildren, Crystal Savoy, Justin Lanerie Sr., Dillan Guidry, Damon Guidry, Stephen Leger, Macie Breaux, Jamalle Baker and Sasha Baker; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Guidry is preceded in death by her husband, Farol Guidry; two sons, Gerald Guilbeaux and Keith Guidry; her parents, Henry and Elna Lafleur Meyer Sr.; four brothers, Ben, Gerald, Ronnie and Henry Meyer; one grandson, Nathaniel Baker; and one great-grandson, Drake Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Justin Lanerie, Dillan Guidry, Damon Guidry, Stephen Leger, Blake Lormand, Chad Meyer and Jeffery Lormand.

Wallace Anthony Hebert
A Mass of Christian Burial is pending for Wallace Anthony Hebert, 71, who passed away surrounded by his family on Aug. 27, 2019, at his home in Crowley.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday times are pending. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Interment will be in Frey Cemetery.
Wallace was a member of the Louisiana National Guard for six years. He was employed for over 40 years for Cleco as a lineman.
He served his community by helping Boy Scouts and coaching baseball and soccer. Mr. Hebert enjoyed hunting and fishing; but he especially loved watching his children sporting activities.
He was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church and served as an Eucharistic Minister.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Aline Breaux Hebert of Crowley; six children, Anne Marie Hebert Stewart and husband Justin of Crowley, Michelle Hebert Theriot and husband Richie of Erath, Anthony Hebert of Rayne, Gaston Hebert of Iota, Winston Hebert and wife Caitlin Ancelet, and Justin Hebert and companion Katelyn Habetz; two sisters, Marlene Leger of Iota, and Peggy Hebert of Crowley; nine grandchildren, Parker, Brooklynn, and Emily Stewart, and Gretchen, Grace, Genevieve, and Levi Theriot, and Piper, and Henry Hebert; niece, Susan Hebert of Crowley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hebert is preceded in death by one daughter, Susie Elizabeth Hebert; his parents, Gaston and Mary Susie Burton Hebert; one sister, Sarah Hebert; and one brother, Hubert Hebert.
