Police Jury’s new Ambulance Committee meets on Thursday; open to general public

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Oliver Husers, 67, at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in St Michael Catholic Mission Chapel in Egan with Rev. Jude Thierry as celebrant.
Visitation will begin in the Duhon Funeral Home - Crowley Chapel on Thursday from 9 a.m. until just prior to the time of service. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
Interment will follow the church service and will be in Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
Mr. Husers passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Mr. Husers is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen LeJeune Husers of Egan; children, Stephanie Schexnayder and husband Barry of Walker, Chad Husers and wife Anita of Monroe, and Jason Husers and wife Rolicia of Egan; grandchildren, Seth Richardson, T-Leigh Husers, Tova Husers, Riley Husers and Malaya Sonnier; brothers, Francis Husers and wife Nadine of New Iberia, Leroy Husers and wife Sara of Arlington, Texas, Ronald Husers and wife Pat of Fort Worth, Texas, Gerald Husers and wife Dottie of Dallas, Texas, and Glen Husers of New Iberia; sister, Dolores Slazakowski of Burlington, Wisconsin; father-in-law, Garry LeJeune Sr. of Egan; brothers-in-law, Garry “Chicken” LeJeune and wife Ramona of Egan, and Daniel LeJeune and wife Carrie of Franklin, Texas; sister-in-law, Gwen Leger and husband, uey of Egan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert H. Husers and Mary L. Perry Miller; brother, Eddie Husers; mother-in-law, Virginia LeJeune.
Pallbearers will be Jason Husers, Chad Husers, Cody Leger, Lee Kibodeaux, April Leger, Francis Husers Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Miguel LeJeune.

Sandra Lormand Guidry
The family and friends of Sandra Lormand Guidry are mourning the loss of their loved one, who was called from this life on March 1, 2019, at the age of 72.
Sandra was born in Rayne to the late Stafford and Annette Trahan Lormand on Aug. 13, 1946. She was a Member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Sandra worked at Quality Dry Cleaners. Some of her favorite pass times were shopping, listening to music and dancing. Sandra loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sandra is survived by her four daughters, Jamie Guidry of Lafayette, Annette Guidry (Bubbie) Habetz of Lyons Point, Janet Guidry (Luke) LeBlanc of Gueydan and Phyllis (Bruno) Guidry of Gueydan; her sister Yvonne Lormand of Scott; her seven brothers, Kenneth Lormand, Steve Lormand, Chris Lormand, Sandy Lormand, Phil Lormand, Brian Lormand, and Scott Lormand; her six grandchildren, Marcus, Liz, Bridget, John, Courtney and Lance; her five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Ben, Ellie, Victoria and Logan.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Stafford and Annette Lormand; her beloved husband, Ray Allen Guidry; brother, Neal Lormand and sister, Trudy Gaspard.
Funeral services were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Monday, March 4, at 3 p.m. with Father Clint Trahan officiating.
Visitation was held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Gueydan on Sunday, March 3, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Jean Istre. Visitation resumed on Monday at 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.
