Donald Ray Reed
Donald Ray Reed was born in Iota on Dec. 25, 1945, to Herbert Reed and Eva Reed.
He was called from his earthly life onto his Heavenly Father on Oct. 28, 2018.
Donald worked as a heavy equipment operator. He loved doing things outdoors like hunting, camping, and working in his yard and garden.
Donald loved to cook for family gatherings. His greatest joy in life was the time he had to spend with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donald was a kind and loving person whom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Margie Fontenot Reed of Tee Mamou; his three sons, Gary James Reed (Lorraine) of Eunice, Timothy Scott Reed (Christina) of Welsh and Brent “Keedo” Reed (April) of Tee Mamou; his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Tommy Reed (Belinda) of Elton and Ronnie Reed (Anisa) of Elton; his four sisters, Mary Mott of Hathaway, Merline Bergeaux of Basile, Elaine Ravey (David) of Elton and Patsy Simar (Keith) of Basile.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eva Reed; and his brother, Sam Reed
A Mass of Christian burial for Donald Ray Reed, 72, of Tee Mamou, will be held at St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee Mamou on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m. with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 11 a.m until 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus. The family request that visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass.
Donald will be laid to rest in the St. Jules/Tee Mamou Cemetery in Tee Mamou with Full Military Rites.
Carrying Donald to his final resting place will be Gary Reed, Brent Reed, Travis Babineaux, Joseph Young, Hunter Reed, and Billy Reed.
Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Reed.

Sybil “Rae” Reed Faulk
Sybil “Rae” Reed Faulk, 90, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 25, 2018.
Rae was born Sept. 25, 1928, in Crowley, to Rufus and Pearl Reed. She married Alvin “Bruce” Faulk after a short courtship on Aug. 30, 1946. Rae and Bruce lived in Crowley and Baton Rouge, where they raised their two sons Hal and Wayne Faulk.
Rae lived her life serving the Lord and was devoted to her family. She lived for faith, family, friends and fellowship.
She had a passion for cooking wonderful Southern meals and this was her way to make all smile. She loved fresh vegetables, crab and a good T-bone steak! She was witty for all her days and lived life to the fullest up to her final birthday.
Rae was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Faulk; son Wayne Faulk and grandson Todd Faulk.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son Hal Faulk and wife Katy of Liberty Hill, Texas; brothers Lowell Reed and wife Johnnie of Iota, and Wendell Reed and wife Bonnie of Baton Rouge; grandchildren Stacey Faulk and husband Jim Jeffrey of Hutto, Texas, Tim Faulk and wife Becky of Mukilteo, Washington, Terrell Faulk and wife Robin of Hutto, Texas, Reed Faulk, Matthew Faulk and Lauren Faulk of Liberty Hill, Texas; six great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at Georgetown Church of the Nazarene, Georgetown, Texas, on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m. for a Celebration of Life.
Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, Texas, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bruce Faulk.

Shooting leaves one dead
A Sunday evening shooting in the West Crowley Subdivision has left one dead.
The incident occurred on the corner of J.D. Miller and Leslie Amos Streets.
According to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, his office received the call at approximately 5:20 p.m. Broussard indicated that the victim and another male were sitting on a vehicle located in the front yard of the residence where the shooting took place when the shooter ran from around the back of the house and shot the victim in the back multiple times before fleeing in the same direction from which he had come. The other male was uninjured.
At this time police are unsure of the motive behind the shooting.
Although the victim's name is not being released at this time, Chief Broussard has confirmed that he was airlifted to a regional hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Police are asking that anyone with information related to the crime please come forward.
