Lawrence Joseph Broussard

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Lawrence Joseph Broussard. 
Father Jonathan Janise, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley, will officiae.
Burial will be held in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Lyons Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. until time of services, all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Lawrence Joseph Broussard passed away peacefully on Dec. 20, 2024, at the age of 79, in his daughter’s home in Lafayette parish, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on Aug. 1, 1945, in Crowley, he was a devoted husband to Lydia Broussard and a loving father to his three children, Lena Broussard Navarre, Suzanne Broussard, and Gregory Broussard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Lydia Broussard; his children, Suzanne Broussard and Gregory Broussard and wife Constanza Ehrenhaus; his son-in-law, Tony Navarre; godfather, Alvin Broussard; his sisters, Jean Theriot, Ashley Broussard and Monica Broussard; his grandchildren, Skylar Navarre and wife Maria, Trevor Navarre and wife Camille, Alisa Navarre, Colin Navarre, Sarah Navarre, Ignacio Broussard and Santiago Broussard; his aunts, Inez Hanks and Merdie Bertrand; and his uncle, Durphey Broussard.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lena Broussard Navarre; his mother, Una Guidry Menard; father, Joseph Noble Broussard; brother, Milford Broussard; godmother, Esther Henry; and good friends, Wayne Huddleston and Carlos Hollier; his grandparents, Clayus and Louisa Broussard; his uncles, David, Uray, Norbert Jr. Broussard, L.J., and Ozanne Guidry; his aunt, Zulma Valenstein.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Air Force for four years at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. After his service he managed vegetable growth in a greenhouse before working as a janitorial supervisor for over 20 years before retiring. Much of that time was spent at the First National Bank Towers in Lafayette, where his dedicated work ethic and kindness earned him many friends who helped him through his life.
When he wasn’t working, which wasn’t often, he enjoyed Natural Lite beer and lighting his fire pit, which he could sit and watch for hours, even during the hottest months of the year.
He loved taking his boat fishing with his friends Carlos Hollier, Wayne Huddleston and John Bryant or sometimes his grandchildren. He loved raising farm animals and gardening and often proclaimed how blessed he was in his life.
Pallbearers for the services will be Gregory Broussard, Skylar Navarre, Trevor Navarre, Tony Navarre, Derek Theriot and Trey Dupont.
The family would like to thank Lourdes Home Health and Heart of Hospice for their kindness and help during Lawrence’s last days, they were a blessing.

Rosa Bourque Ryder

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Rosa Bourque Ryder, 88, who passed away Dec. 19, 2024, at The Landmark.
Father Jonathan Janise, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be officiating for the service.
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Friday, Jan. 3, from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
She is survived by two children, Donald LeDoux Jr. and wife Candice of Egan, and Tammy LeDoux Nolan and husband Kenneth of Lake Arthur; one brother, Johnny Bourque and wife Peggy of Eunice; one stepdaughter, Toni Godwin and husband David of Jennings; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Rosa is preceded in death by one son, David LeDoux; her parents, Lawrence and Ella Richard Bourque; seven siblings, Edmond Bourque, Herbert Bourque, Janie Barry, Frank Bourque, Judy Ozane, Margaret Hebert and Don Ray Bourque; and one grandson, Robbie Benoit.
