Joseph “Joe” V. LaCombe

Roberts Cove - Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 11, at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Joseph “Joe” V. LaCombe, 78, who died Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at his residence in Roberts Cove.
Interment was in the St. Leo IV Cemetery, Mausoleum in Roberts Cove.
Rev. Mitchell Guidry, pastor of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, was the celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Gary LaCombe of Roberts Cove; three sons, Gary LaCombe (Kellie) of Mire, Wade LaCombe (Alicia) of Roberts Cove and Alan LaCombe (Sandra) of Pineville; seven grandchildren, Brody LaCombe, Savanna LaCombe (Tavares), Colin LaCombe, Brett LaCombe, Kaden LaCombe, Owen LaCombe and Hudson LaCombe; two brothers-in-law, Donald Petitjean and Wilton Gary (Marcella); three sisters-in-law, Judia LaCombe, Barbara LaCombe and Marie Gary Benoit (Obrey “Toboy”); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin LaCombe and Elzia Cormier LaCombe; four brothers, Alton “Doug” LaCombe, J.D. LaCombe, Earl LaCombe and James “T-Man” LaCombe; six sisters, Virgie L. Broussard, Dorothy L. Robertson, Ruby L. Doucet, Nelda L. Cormier, Louise L. Miller and Jane “T-Dee” L. Petitjean.
Pallbearers were Wade LaCombe, Brody LaCombe, Colin LeCombe, Brett LaCombe, Kaden LaCombe and James “Bubba” LaCombe II.
A Rosary was prayed Sunday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m. in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne.
The family had requested that visitation observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p..m. and on Monday, Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The LaCombe family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Dwight Curtis, Dr. Wade May, and the staff of Allegiance Hospice, especially Keisha Hebert, Shawna LeBleu and Naomi Chapman.

Rev. David Lee Greene

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church - Crowley for Rev. David Lee Greene, 74, who died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, at 2:58 p.m. at The Calcutta House at Hospice of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Rev. Charles Miller, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church - Lake Charles, will officiate for the services.
The family requests visiting hours Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to service time at First Lutheran Church, 121 W. Eighth St., Crowley.
Rev. Greene was a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, grew up in New Orleans and called South Louisiana home since 1980. He served as pastor at First Lutheran Church in Crowley from 2002 until his death. He also served as pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Iota and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jennings.
He was a civil war reenactor, Scout Master, and Chaplain at Arceneaux Post #77 - American Legion. Prior to his ministry, he was a computer technician. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
Rev. Greene is survived by his wife of 53 years Deborah Capelle Greene of Kaplan; two daughters, Elizabeth Mayeux and husband Brian of Metairie, and Elaine Eves and husband Lou of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons Rev. Frank N. Greene III and wife Leigh of Kansas City, Missouri, and Donald Greene and wife Jennifer of Houma; three brothers, Earle Greene of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Warren Greene and wife Linda of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Kenneth Greene and wife Patricia of Harahan; 10 grandchildren, Jacob and Camryn Mayeux, Jonathan and Kimberly Greene, Brady Kisor, Lou and Helen Eves, Rylee, and Jaxon and David Greene; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank N. Greene Jr. and Helen Faustermann Greene.
