Crowley, Midland begin play in Ville Platte girls tournament

With holiday season quickly approaching, prep high school basketball tournaments are well underway.
The Crowley Ladies and the Midland Lady Rebels will each participate in the Ville Platte Bulldog Classic beginning today.
In the rare bracket play tournament, Midland will square off with Beau Chene today at 4:30 and the Crowley Ladies will follow up with a 6 p.m. contest against North Central.
A victory by the Lady Rebels would pit them against Northwest, which received a bye, Thursday at 4 p.m.
Should the Lady Rebels drop the tournament opener, they would play in a loser’s bracket game at 6 p.m. on Friday.
A victory oer North Central would pit the CHS Ladies against host Ville Platte Thursday at 6 p.m. while a loss would send them into an elimination game on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Saturday at 1 p.m. while the consolation finals will be at 11 a.m.
The Midland Rebels will also begin tournament play later in the week when they participate in the Hathaway Round Robin beginning Thursday at 5 p.m. with a contest against Fairview.
They will round out tournament action on Saturday with an 11:15 a.m. game against Elton.
