Lady Wolves enter playoffs, Wolves eye post-season

The Lady Wolves wrapped up their last district game of the 2016-2017 basketball season with a 41-22 win over Crowley High.
The win slid the Lady Wolves into a 6-4 district standing and a No. 10 state ranking for the state playoffs.
With the brackets released Monday afternoon, last year’s 4A’s state runner-up drew a home game tonight (Thursday) when they are scheduled to host No. 23 Morgan City.
In the Lady Wolves’ win over Crowley High, Rayne jumped out to a 26-12 advantage at the half. They opened the second half with an 11-2 run before adding another eight in the final frame for the win.
Keysuana Moore led the Lady Wolves with 21 points, followed by Tajané Butler who alo hit double digits with 10 points.

In recent boys’ action, the Wolves claimed a 60-34 district win over intra-parish rival Crowley High.
Rayne took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back for the big district win.
The Wolves were led by Dontray Leopaul and Drekyllon Gibson, each scoring 14 points for the win.
The Wolves stand at No. 24 in the state ranklings with a 3-6 district slate.
They were scheduled to host Leesville this week during their last regular scheduled district contest of the season; at which time, will honor their seniors.
State playoff brackets for boys’ post-season will be released Monday afternoon.
