Young Authors, 4-H'ers recognized

CROWLEY – The Acadia Parish School Board’s May meeting had two opening items designated toward recognition of its students Monday night.

4-H banquet recognizes outstanding members, volunteers and more

Not only recognized for her 40 years of service to the Acadia Parish 4-H program, but also announced as the 2014 4-H Hall of Fame inductee was Judia LaCombe, center. Presenting her the honor were 4-H agents Kayla Segura, left, and Megan Sarver, right.

Last week, outstanding 4-H members from across the parish were recognized as scholarships were awarded and volunteers were honored at the Acadia Parish 4-H Outstanding Members Banquet.

‘Circle of 4-H Day’ set

A large group of Crowley 4-H’ers from Notre Dame, Redemptorist Catholic, Ross Elementary and Northside Christian schools and their leaders as well as agents were on hand Friday morning to see Mayor Greg Jones proclaim Oct. 6-12 as National 4-H Week in the city of Crowley.

A week full of activities will be on tap for schools across the parish — and country — for National 4-H Week, which begins today, Sunday, Oct. 6.
