Mire provides ‘Images’ book teaser to Rotarians

Ann Mire, left, signs one of her books, “Images of America: Crowley” for Chris Brammer, center, while Pat Miers, right, awaits her turn following the Rotary Club of Crowley’s Tuesday meeting. Mire presented a program on her newly published book that definitely appeared to pique the interest of the Rotarians as a group eagerly awaited a chance to purchase copies after the meeting.

Ann Mire has quite the soft spot for history, particularly the history of this city.

“If you’re ever looking for an old picture, call me, I probably know where to look,” she said.

‘Fizz, Boom, Read!’

The Acadia Parish Library system is calling all young readers and scientists to arms.

This year’s Summer Reading Program, “Fizz, Boom, Read!” is under way and lasts through Aug. 9.

Library showing ‘The Lorax’

Just as schools in the parish have done recently, the Acadia Parish Library will celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss, one of America’s most popular children’s writers, with its March Saturday Morning Movie Matinee.
