Mire gives Rotarians first look at ‘Crowley: Past and Present’

Rotary Club of Crowley President-elect Pat Miers, left, and program organizer for Tuesday’s meeting Alice Whiting, right, welcomed Ann Mire to speak on Crowley’s history as well as her latest project, “Crowley: Past and Present,” which combines scenes from a film created in 1915 and today along with pictures of the nearly 100 years in between.

Loyal readers of The Crowley Post-Signal have already been made aware of Ann Mire’s love of Crowley’s deep historic lore.

Children’s Movie series continues at library

With the weather forecast to be rainy and downright yucky this coming weekend, Saturday will be the perfect time to visit the Crowley library and enjoy the monthly Saturday Morning Children’s Movie.
This Saturday (April 11), “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” will be shown beginning at 10 a.m. The movie is the third installment of the Night at the Museum series.

Mire provides ‘Images’ book teaser to Rotarians

Ann Mire, left, signs one of her books, “Images of America: Crowley” for Chris Brammer, center, while Pat Miers, right, awaits her turn following the Rotary Club of Crowley’s Tuesday meeting. Mire presented a program on her newly published book that definitely appeared to pique the interest of the Rotarians as a group eagerly awaited a chance to purchase copies after the meeting.

Ann Mire has quite the soft spot for history, particularly the history of this city.
