The Crowley Garden Club’s January Civic Beautification Award was presented to Privileged Beauty Bar, which is located at 510 W. Second St. and owned by LaQuinta Wycoff, right. Wycoff’s boyfriend handmade all six of the flower boxes that line the front of her new salon, and they are filled with arbequina olive patio trees, ornamental shrubs, and flowering shrubs, along with some other flowering plants. The boxes offer a welcome pop of color and are an example of how businesses can create their own planting spaces in areas where there are none. The Civic Beautification award is presented to businesses that exhibit pride in the community and try to instill pride in others in the community. CGC member Juliette Adams, left, was on hand to present the award.
