Crowley Masonic Lodge 243 had been in possession of Louisiana’s Masonic 11th District Traveling Gavel. Members of the Gueydan Lodge 429 recently retrieved it with two participating holding dual membership in the Crowley and Gueydan Lodges. At the ceremony are, from left, Jimmy Toups of Gueydan; Billy Istre, Gueydan and Crowley; John Carboni, Crowley; Walton Theall, Gueydan; Red Fusilier, Gueydan and Crowley; and Keith Stelly, Gueydan. The Traveling Gavel was implemented for the sole purpose of encouraging the brethren of their Masonic District to travel and visit other lodges and promote Brotherly Love and Affection.
