During a brief ceremony recently at Crowley City Hall, District 1 Police Juror Walter Andrus, seated, presented a check in the amount of $1,500 to Shattered But Not Broken to aid in their efforts to curb abuse. Joining in the ceremony were, standing front from left, Alderwoman Katie Chiasson, Shattered But Not Broke President Shonnetta Green, Jada Young and Sherry Yokum; back from left, Alderman Jeff Doré, Mayor Chad Monceaux, Janet Thomas, Amari Scott, D’ziyree Thorne, and Alderman Brad Core. The funding is from District 1’s share of the federal American Rescue Plan Act.
