Kids’ Day on Main Street, sponsored by the Crowley Main Street program on Saturday, was “a huge success,” according to Main Street Executive Director Amber Hargrave. “With one of the biggest yet with 68 activities, vendors and participants, we estimate anywhere from 3,000 to 4,000 kids and family members attended,” Hargrave said. North Parkerson Avenue from the courthouse to Second Street was teeming with families throughout the morning and there was no lack of “things to do” for the kiddos. Clockwise from top left, a sandbox provides entertainment for some of the younger kids; a piglet gets lots of love and attention in the petting zoo on the courthouse lawn; Pentecostals of Crowley hosted popular balloon art; and Mayor Chad Monceaux takes a dip in the dunking booth. “We look forward to adding more activities in the coming years and continuing to host a wonderful event for the youth of our community,” Hargrave said. (More highlights of Saturday’s activities will be published in an upcoming edition.
