‘Keep Christ in Christmas’ poster contest winners

The true “Reason for the Season” is often lost in all the commercialism and hoopla of gift-giving, but members of Sacré Coeur Council 5499, Knights of Columbus, are doing something about that.
In an effort to remind youth of the real meaning of Christmas, the Knights sponsored a “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest with the winners recognized and awarded recently at the K.C. home in Crowley.
Winners in the various age categories were presented $50 for first place, $40 for second place, $30 for third place and $20 for fourth place.
There were 613 participants in this year’s contest, with each receiving a certificate of participation. The number of participants is up from 575 last year and has shown an increase of more than 400 percent since the contest was first held in 2001 (116 participants that year).
