Chamber planning drive-thru Farmers’ Appreciation Lunch
The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce will continue its tradition of honoring the area’s farming community, though this year it will be a little different.
“Although not our usual event, we are planning to host a Farmers’ Appreciation Lunch on Friday, Feb. 19,” according to a release from the Chamber office.
Prepared by “Chef Night Train” Blane Faulk, the Chamber will be serving a seafood étouffée in a drive-through plate pick-up format at the Wells Fargo Building.
Distribution of the plate lunches will be from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Tickets have been mailed to each member business. Additional tickets are available for purchase at the Chamber office on the Court Circle or by calling 788-0177.
“It is our hope that these lunches make it to the hardworking hands of the integral farm workers and employees who make agriculture a mainstay in Acadia Parish’s local economy,” said Amy Thibodeaux, president and CEO.
The Chamber is also now accepting sponsorships and door prizes for the event. Call the office for more information.
