Free COVID-19 testing set in Rayne, Crowley during coming week

In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health, the Louisiana Nartional Guard will be conducting free drive-thru COVID-19 testing at a number of sites, including two in Acadia Parish, during the coming week.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, testing will be conducted at the South Rayne Community Center, 403 Third St., Rayne.
On Friday, Aug. 21, the Martin Luther King Center at 1725 W. Hutchinson Ave. in Crowley will be the site of testing.
Testing will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and all those being tested must bring an ID and wear a mask.
Anyone 5 years of age and older can be tested. It will be a self-administered nasal swab test and results will be available online. Currently, results are available in three to five days.
Testing may be canceled due to weather conditions.
