Cue the tinsel, Crowley has a new Miss Merry Christmas.
Thursday night, the Eta Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi’s annual pageant saw many girls vying for the year’s merriest of crowns.
Out of 17 contestants, Connor Jane LeLeux was chosen to wear the crown.
LeLeux is the daughter of Leslie “Belle” and Keith LeLeux and is 6 years old. She attends South Crowley Elementary School and would like to be an architect or teacher one day.
She was crowned by Miss Merry Christmas 2015 Annalise Marie Arceneaux and Santa Claus himself.
LeLeux will ride with Santa and some of her fellow contestants in the Crowley Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade on Dec. 1, which rolls through downtown Crowley beginning at 6 p.m.
The festive evening featured entertainment from the Dolores Nutt School of Dance, Tumbling Tots and Teens Gymnastics and the Crowley High School Glee Club.
Serving as master of ceremonies for the evening was Crowley Chief of Police Jimmy Broussard.
Of the girls vying for the crown, eight were chosen as semi-finalists. As if the task of whittling the field down to eight wasn’t hard enough, the judges then had to choose the winner and four runners-up to make up the Miss Merry Christmas 2016 court. Joining LeLeux on the court this year are Cole (fourth runner-up), Bush (third runner-up), Pousson (second runner-up) and Post (first runner-up).

Pousson, 6, attends St. Francis School. She is the daughter of Carmen and Ryan Pousson and plans to be a nurse or veterinarian in the future.
