Library announces May events
The Acadia Parish Library has a great line-up of activities for the month of May.
• May 10 - Mother’s Day Card Lab - 3:30 p.m.: Kids can create cards for mom at the library’s open Mother’s Day Card Lab. All supplies will be provided and no sign-up is required.
• May 18 - Book Signing with Author Langston Sinclair - 10 a.m.: Crowley native Langston Sinclair will be on hand for a signing of his new book, “The Fight to Write in You.”
Sinclair now resides in Humble, Texas, and is an evangelist, poet, writer and independent author. He aspires to share with the youths of Crowley his love of writing and to encourage them to share their own unique voices. The program is free and open to the public and sign-up is not required.
• May 22 - Sherlock Holmes’ Mystery Tea - 3:30 p.m.: Students ages 13 and older are invited to a Victorian tea to celebrate Sherlock Holmes Day. The event will include snacks, a mystery tea tasting and a discussion of all things murder mystery and crime-relayed. Space is limited, so sign-up is required.
• May 29 - Canvas Beach Bag DIY - 3:30 p.m.: Attendees will decorate their own canvas beach bags. The event is for all ages, but adult supervision is required for younger children. All supplies will be provided. Sign-up is required because space is limited.
