Northside Christian Warriors win state championship
Northside Christian's Mathew Richard came through with a flare RBI single to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 1-1 deadlock and lift the Warriors to the Division V state title with a 2-1 victory over No. 5 Runnels Monday afternoon at McMurry Park.
The title was Northside Christian's second in school history. They claimed the Class C championship in 2014.
Northside Christian's Keegan Foreman was named the championship game Most Outstanding Player after striking out 11 in 5 2/3 innings of relief work. He also had two of the Warriors seven hits on the day.
