Chief: 380 traffic tickets issued during past month, majority are TED-related
Police Chief Jimmy Broussard has reported an increase in the number of traffic tickets issued by his department during the past month.
Addressing the Public Safety Committee meeting Broussard also noted that, from July 3 (the date of the last committee meeting) until Tuesday, Aug. 6 (the date the report was prepared), the Crowley Police Department responded to 984 calls for service.
A total of 380 traffic citations were issued since the last committee meeting. Of that number, 353 were TED related, which leaves 27 traffic citations in general that were written in the city in the last month.
Since the last committee meeting, the Crowley Police Department has hired two officers to fill vacancies and still has one opening left of which they are interviewing.
