Drug charges filed after search of Rayne residence
Two Acadiana women are facing multiple drug charges after a home was searched there this week.
Officers with the Rayne Police Department assisted probation officers with a search of the residence in the 900 block of Pearl Street.
As a result, officers seized cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, Hydrocodine tablets, Tramadol tablets, Carisoprodol tablets, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of money.
Karen Gervais, 42, of Rayne, has been charged with possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I (marijuana), possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II (meth), possession of schedule II (cocaine), possession of Schedule II (acetaminophen and hydrocodine bitartrate), monies derived, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule IV (tramadol), possession of Schedule IV (carisoprodol), and violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone.
Gayla Hunt, 47, of Lafayette, was arrested for possession of Schedule II (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug free zone.
