Colonel Jason Lopez is pinned with new medals by his wife and children during ceremonies held at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, as he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. The 17-year Army veteran is a Rayne native who graduated from Rayne High School and UL Lafayette.
