Routine agenda on tap for Police Jury tonight

Members of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will face a rather routine agenda when they meet in monthly session here Tuesday night.
The meeting, open to the general public, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the third-floor meeting room in the Acadia Parish Courthouse.
Items included on the short August agenda include:
• Authorize the president to sign Change Order No. 1 for the road construction project at the Acadia Parish Landfill.
• Authorize the approval of Off-System Bridge Program funding.
• Authorize the president to sign a resolution to execute the application for LGAP (Local Government Assistance Program) funding for Acadia Parish Jail air conditioner replacements in the amount of $100,000.
• Authorize the approval of the proposal from Ardaman and Associates for groundwater monitoring services at the Acadia Parish Landfill.
• Authorize the president to sign a resolution approving the holding of an election in Fire Protection District No. 6 (Branch) on Nov. 16 to levy a tax renewal of 8.01 mills.
• Authorize the president to sign a resolution approving the holding of an election in Fire Protection District No. 9 (Rayne) on Nov. 16 to levy a tax renewal of 10 mills.
• Accept the requests for proposals for flood mitigation grants.
• Re-appoint Jeff Fontenot to the Fire District No. 6 board.
• Accept the resignation of Larry Cassard and approve the appointment of Peter A. Tucker to the Fire District 11(rural Crowley) board.
