Search warrant yields large quantity drugs, guns, currency
Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office executed a narcotics search warrant on January 31, 2019 at the address of 205 2nd Street in Mermentau.
Upon securing the location, deputies began their search and located 3.5 pounds of Methamphetamine, 129 grams of Heroin, 16 grams of Cocaine, 37 grams of Marijuana, 224 assorted pills, 10 firearms and over $5,000 in currency. The street value of these illegal drugs is $106,000.00.
“Our deputies are doing an outstanding job battling the illegal drugs in our communities. We have a large amount of open investigations and they take time to develop. Their time and effort has not gone unnoticed” stated Sheriff KP Gibson.
Arrested was Mickey Dale Perry, 61 of Mermentau. Perry has been charged with:
2 counts of PWITD Schedule I (Heroin and Marijuana)
4 counts of PWITD Schedule II (Methamphetamine, Oxycodone, Cocaine, Perio)
3 counts of PWITD Schedule III (Colonaezpam, Diazepam, Carisoprodel)
2 counts of PWITD Legend Drugs (Ciprofloxalin, Tizanidine)
Possession of an Unregistered Firearm (Sawed off Shotgun)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Proceeds from Drug Sales
Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a School Zone
Perry has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with bond pending.
