Warrant nets large quantity drugs, cash
Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on Friday, Jan. 25, on a residence in the 100 block of Barbara Drive southeast of Crowley.
During the search of the residence, deputies recovered 80 grams of methamphetamine, 295 grams of marijuana, 14 hydrocodone pills, 43 alprazolam pills, seven clonazepam pills and over 100 assorted items dipped in THC.
Also recovered were two digital scales, two grinders and packaging materials.
Over $7,000 in currency and money orders were recovered as well.
“During this search, deputies recovered roughly 50 vape pens of assorted flavors and 31 bags of a fruit cereal, which both were coated with THC. These items, especially the vape pens, are known to be popular with teenagers and young adults. These items have been taken off the streets before it reached out youth,” stated Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
Matthew Adams, 25, of Crowley was arrested and charged with:
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana;
Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine;
Possession with intent to distribute hydrocodone;
Possession with intent to distribute alprazolam;
Possession with intent to distribute clonazepam;
Possession with intent to distribute legend drugs;
Possession of drug paraphernalia;
Transactions involving proceeds of a controlled dangerous substance; and
Illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
Adams was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
