This year marks the 63rd anniversary of the death of Charlene Richard, the “Little Cajun Saint,” and the Anniversary Mass was Aug. 11 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard. Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette addresses the congregation. Deshotel officially opened the “Cause for Canonization” of Charlene Richard at Immaculata Chapel in Lafayette.
